How to choose the right Color Scheme for your Commercial Building

You know when your commercial building needs paint. The current interior and exterior paint begins to peel, fade, and simply not look appealing anymore. When it comes to many businesses, appearance matter, and you do not want to lose out on clients simply because your building looks like it has seen better days. However, once you have made the decision to hire a commercial painting contractor, the next decision has to be made: what color should you paint the walls?

Pick From Your Surroundings

Look around your office park or industrial area for inspiration. If you are trying to come up with a color scheme for the outside of your building, start by looking around your complex or office park. Also check with your landlord, since you might be limited to a certain color or shade. If you aren’t limited in this way, decide whether you want your building to either blend in or stand out. This way you know whether to choose a paint color that matches or one that is completely different from all of the others.

Use Common Colors

Consider using the colors in the company’s logo. This seems like an obvious choice for inspiration, however, it gets overlooked a lot. Choose one of more of the colors in your company logo for both the exterior and interior of the building. It will publicize your company’s brand a slightly subtle way, as well as match your sign. If you colors are ones that stand out, this will also make it easier for people to find your building.

Color Evokes Feeling

Use colors like blue (which is soothing) or green (which evokes a feeling of safety) or yellow (which is energizing) to change the atmosphere in your office. When all else fails, turn to interior colors that have meaning and that evoke a specific feeling in the people looking at them. You might even spur your workforce into being more productive with the right color.
